B.A. Physical Education, University of Portland, 1948; attended on football scholarship playing end for the Pilots.

Legally changed his name to Edward.

Portland (OR) Police Department 1949 - 1986.  38 years distinguished service; retiring as a Lieutenant.

In 1947 married Rose Marie (Dee) Rennie, long serving nursing supervisor and Associate Director of Nursing at St. Vincent's Hospital, Portland, OR

Four children for whom Rocco will always be their hero: Edward, Steve, Mary Jo, and Terri; eight grandchildren.

Avid amateur golfer with 7 handicap, gardener, daily jogger and family man.

Deceased: 1996 at age 72 years with symptoms of pugilistic dementia, very likely associated with his boxing career. An educated man and with the benefit of modern scientific evidence, Rocco would most certainly advise young men of today against going into the ring.
